I haven't written a post in almost a thousand days, mostly because I had nothing really knew to write about. Well, besides de facts that most of the people close to me know such as how I almost flunk out of college, or how I work my ass in order to graduate with a decent GPA and later on find a fun job at a non-profit bio-resource center in VA.
Recently I got some extra time in my hands so I decided to do something with it. I have decided to finally start writing all my ideas on this expensive piece of machinery that my brother got for me last year when I graduated. Actually it is the first time I am using it for something productive, most of the time I just wonder on the internet and look for fun videos on youtube.
I won't write my story on the net, I will just express my creative progress and write little ideas that would come to me while I run.
My best ideas come when I run.
Oh well time to sleep and to erase some people that I do not know from facebook :P

Captain Tsubasa's Review

The World Cup is very well know all around the World and it was very popular even in countries that got eliminated from it. And this is because of the passion and love for the sport. And because of the last World Cup i have decided to review Captain Tsubasa.
This anime is also very popular in most country because is about "Football" or soccer

The story was written by Yoichi Takahashi, and as most animes from the 80s it was based on a manga. I have never read the manga myself so this review will be about the anime. The original series has 128 episodes.
Captain Tsubasa tells the story of Tsubasa Ozora (in spanish his name is Oliver Atom this name is used in most translation ask any french person) and his love for soccer. It is also shown the when he was a little kid he was running with his soccer ball on the street and a truck was about to run over him but the ball protected him and made him bounce saving him from a grousome accident, by the way his parents were watching him while this happened.

What i am describing here is the first 2 episodes.

Well the real story starts when he moved to Shizouka because of his father's job. As soon as he gets to his new home to leaves to enroll to a school that it is famous for its soccer team. (Please understand that since i have watched only the show in spanish i will use the spanish names) The name of the school is Saint Francis and have the best goalkepper in Japan, Benji Price. However he is unable to enroll since he arrives during s Sports Festival. This is a festival between two school the Saint Francis and Newpy. The first one with way better soccer team that the second one. Well since Oliver is not able to enroll, he decides to go back home, on his way he meets with Bruce the captain of the Newpy soccer team. Bruce sees him with the soccer ball and ask him if he knows how to play, Oliver says yes and then Bruce ask him if he would like to play a match with him against anothe soccer team. Well, you see this other team is the Saint Francis and they are playing for the right to play on the field. The Newpy team is angry because Saint Francis has already 2 soccer fields in his school while Newpy does not have any. The match starts and Oliver is on the bench as a replacement, someone gets injure while St. Francis was beating hell out of Newpy and Oliver enters the field. Enough to say that he was able to dribble and pass through 10 players at the same time. and score a goal for his team, however the goalkeeper playing at the time was a replacement and not Benji Price. The Newpy lost but they were able to score against St. Francis ( normally the got beaten 12 to 0 ). Oliver really wants to play against Benji Price so he sends him a challenge. Basically he goes to the top of a hill and try to see where Benji's house is, write something on the ball and then he kicks the balls. So yeah, at the time Oliver shoots the ball, Benji was practicing and then he sees a ball and his instints of goalkepper take over hims and he catches the ball. He was suprise that someone is able to kick the ball hard enough to reach his house, he is even more surprise when he sees Oliver , Benji tought that the one that kick the ball was ate least 20 years old and not a 12 year old kid. So now Benji says " I will letto have this field to the first person that is able to score a goal agains me". So, the baseball team, the american football team, the voleyball team of Newpy decides to help its soccer team to regain the field. I was imprease that Benji is able to stop a baseball, a football and volleyball with relative ease.

So know the soccer team arrives and Oliver can't score, the St. Francis is winning but with not as many goals as they are used to. From far away a vagabund is watching the game and drinking a bottle of soccer. They are approaching minute 90 of game and no one is able to score a goal, but Oliver is not defeated, at the last minute he does a header but Benji punch it out of the goal, however Oliver is able to kick it but Benji kick it out of the goal out to a corner. The vagabund is getting interested on the game now, and he runs and kicks the corner and Oliver do a bicicle on does a header again and Benji punch it our then the vagabund kicks it and then it hits the top of the goaly and then Oliver sees this and jump and does a bicycle in mid-air and scores a goal agaisnt Benji.

Well that was long, and i do not think this should be part of the review since it is more like a summary of events. But is your decition to edit it.

Wat happens next is the story of how these two persons become friends, and meet other people to create a new team.

The first Story arc tells the story Oliver and his desired to get the Junior Soccer Championship of Japan, as in any shonen there is a lot of drama and camaraderie between team members. There are a lot of matches and a lot of crazy moves, one of them comes from the Goalkepper Richard Texes, and it goes like this: when someone shoots to score a goal against him he jumps to the other side of the post, and uses this post to jump horizontaly to catch the ball (it is crazy). In the second story arc many of Oliver's friends left to other countries and they eventually come back to play along his side. These last matches are truly epic. Is true when they are about to shoot they take sometimes a whole episode, but at the end of the match is truly worthed. I would recomend this Anime to any Soccer fan.

The only way to obtain this anime is either in spanish, or to learn either german, italian or portuguese.

With any luck it would get release on 2010 with the next World Cup :P

here are some links that will lead to a italian page http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://digilander.libero.it/hollybenji2001/v14.JPG&imgrefurl=http://digilander.libero.it/hollybenji2001/vi.htm&h=239&w=320&sz=19&hl=en&start=4&tbnid=CfrfDi2jRIa80M:&tbnh=88&tbnw=118&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbenji%2Bprice%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26sa%3DX and there are som images and videos about some of the most important parts of the first three arcs. However the video quality is not the greatest, i recomend to use www.youtube.com and look for captain tsubasa.
